What does an Executive Coach do?
Executive Coaching is really best served along with a Peer to Peer Advisory Group, as they complement each other well and both meetings – Executive Coaching Meeting and a Peer to Peer Advisory meeting accomplish different goals. An Executive Coach works with the Executive to establish clear goals for him or herself, for the team, or for the organization. The goals can be revenue based, human capital based, or behavior based. Over a period of time steps to those goals will be identified and a path to the goal will be agreed and started upon. Holding the executive accountable to get to the goal is a large part of what an Executive Coach does. For more on Peer to Peer Advisory Groups click here.
Another big job of an Executive Coach is to be a sounding board or for the Executive to get a different perspective. This can come in a one on one session or in a Peer Advisory Group (link). Our perspectives are reality to us and sometimes our reality may be different than what will get us to Growth, Clarity and Success. Another perspective or many other perspectives from a peer advisory group rounds out a single perspective and helps get to better decisions. It eliminates blind spots.
It is lonely at the top, an Executive Coach or a Peer Advisory Group – or both, can put Executives, their companies, and their teams on a fast track to growth and success.
